I’m going to be honest: it’s been a while. I guess you could say I took a little unintended break. It happened because life became busy with university and work, and I quickly became overwhelmed. I tend to do that a lot. Something I am grateful of is that I always find my way back to blogging. And so, I’m going to update you on what’s been happening.
At the moment, I’m halfway through my semester study break. I had hoped to get back into blogging and writing some posts earlier, but I had an assignment and other life things that took up my time. Essentially, this post is to share my excuses.
But I don’t want it to be about excuses.
What’s been happening?
While blogging took the backseat, other things in my life have jumped into the front. I’ve started to take better care of myself.
I redownloaded an app called Habitica, and I’ve been using it to help create some healthier habits. It’s a fun little way to build habits. It’s helped me keep at them too. I’ve gotten back into reading. I’m doing yoga almost every day. I’m using brain training apps. And overall, I’ve found that I’ve become more mindful. It’s a small thing, but it’s played an important step into me becoming better.
I’ve also started running again. I’m not sure what it is about running, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to be able to do well and well… I’ve just never gotten into it. However, over the last three weeks, I’ve been running at least two times a week.
I also caught up with a friend who I haven’t seen since March and oh my goodness, I have missed her so much. Our energy together is unmatched, we’re chaotic and I love it.
And… That leads me to my next point.
Where to next?
My friend and I have created our own 30-day challenge for ourselves. We all about becoming better, and so we have become the becoming better bros haha.
Essentially, it’s a little challenge to push ourselves to become better. If you’re not sure about the motives, you can check out my Revisiting Becoming Better post for more information as to my why.
It starts today, and I’m excited.
If you want to join in for a bit of fun, here are the rules:
- Follow a diet/eat healthily
- No cheat meals or alcohol
- Exercise once a day 4 times a week (minimum of 30 minutes)
- Exercise twice a day 3 times a week (minimum of 30 minutes for each activity)
- At least 10 minutes of yoga every day
- 3 litres of water every day
- Take a progress photo every 3 days
- Build a skill or work on a hobby for 10 or more minutes a day
- Share progress on Instagram every day
- 5 minutes of brain training exercises every day
For the yoga, I’m going to following Yoga with Kassandra’s Morning Yoga Movement playlist on YouTube.
We’ve also created our own Instagram account for the occasion. We’re hoping this will motivate us to keep at it. It’s the only account I’ll be logged into on my phone though, and it’s just for the challenge.
I’m hoping to vlog the challenge and update you all every ten days. That’s the plan anyway.
And in terms of blogging, I’m going to aim for one blog post a week, every Sunday morning. If I get into a groove I’ll go back to two a week. Although, with this challenge, I’ll probably aim for two a week.
Well, that’s pretty much it for this little update. I hope you were able to make some sense of what I’ve said.
