As the new year feeling settles in, Louise and I thought it would be fun to share some of the goals we’ve set for 2022. While we have similar goals, we also have different ones too – like I’m sure you do too.
This post is just a little fun, but it’s also around in case you’re thinking of setting your own. Anyway, let’s get straight into our goals.
Louise’s 2022 goals
In Louise’s words
- To write a poem every day (a shared goal with Lexie)
- To finally write the book I have been planning for the past two years
- To reduce my phone time
- To increase time spent with those I love
- To learn to live without the constant need of distractions
- To get better at responding to messages
- To learn to accept myself
- To be okay with not being perfect or what people expect me to be
- To get out of the house more and create small adventures for myself
- To learn how to make a really good loaf of bread
- As well as some other foods
- To continue my yoga and exercise practices
- To create a healthy night time routine
- To prioritise things that make me feel fulfilled and content
- To create a balance between university and the rest of my life
- To get to the end of 2022 and feel proud of myself
- And to accept that it is okay not to be able to practice these goals 100% of the time, that they can ebb and flow throughout the year and do not come with a time limit

My 2022
In my words too
- To train for an ironman (and hopefully compete in one)
- To write a poem every day (the shared one with Louise)
- To stretch/do yoga every day – even if it’s just for five minutes
- To read 2 books a month
- To create a healthy relationship with food + start cooking more
- To create a money-saving routine and actually start saving
- To create a flexible exercise routine that works for me
- To create and stick to morning and night routines that benefit me
- To write more often and freely
- To do as best as I can with uni – creating a study routine, achieving the highest possible grades I can
- To do something new every month
- To work living more sustainably
- To camp/hike/explore more often
- To become consistent with blogging/youtube
- To learn shorthand
- To enjoy life more
- To swim 100km in Feb for the Starlight Super Swim
Just a short little post, hopefully, to help inspire a better year ahead – for ourselves and for you.
If you set goals, what are some of the goals you’ve set?
