I’m not going to lie, 2020 has been a year full of ups and downs. It’s been a tough year. It’s been a weird year. A lot has happened, and now the year is coming to an end. I’m hopeful that 2021 will be a better year, I think we’re all hoping it will be.
It’s mid-November, and there are only six odd weeks left of 2020. So, I thought I’d set some goals to accomplish to head into 2021 on a high. Although, some of these goals have already changed due to COVID-19, we’ve got to take things as they come and adapt.
My end of 2020 goals
1. Get back into blogging
This one is important for me. I’ve always been in and out of blogging consistently. Some months I’ll publish a new post every week, sometimes even two, and other months Elysian Haze will lay dormant and empty.
I love blogging. I love to write, share my thoughts, and create content for you all to read. The problem is, I’m not very good at time management (even though, I like to think that I am). Whenever life gets busy, Elysian Haze is the first thing to be dropped (as such).
I’m hoping to get back into blogging consistently and to publish at least one post a week, or fortnight. Although, I will be more active on the blog over the coming weeks as I’ll be republishing old content that I liked (since I’ve restarted my blog).
2. Minimalise my life
Less is more.
I’ve always been interested in minimalism, and so, I’m wanting to minimalise my life.
I plan on clearing out my closet and belongings. I’ll be uploading everything I no longer want or need on Depop, giving items to friends, or donating them to charities.
3. Pursue my hobbies and passions/create content I love
This goes for everything I love and do. I want to start creating and doing more of what I love. It’s as simple as that.
4. No spend December
I’m going to aim for a no spend December, apart from necessities and bills.
5. Get back into exercising
So, I love working out, exercising, and just moving my body in general. However, over the last few months, I have done very little. The aim was that once I started working again, I would go to the gym (which is 10 minutes away) and I had plans of following Natacha Oceane’s Cut guide. Except COVID-19 has changed these plans slightly.
I’m writing this post on Tuesday 17 November, and I had planned for my first gym workout to be today. Except, there’s been a COVID-19 outbreak, with community transmissions, and so, our Premier has acted quickly and shut down a lot of things, including gyms, where I work, and has stopped sport. At the moment, it’s a two week thing, and I’m hoping it’s just a two week thing, but for now, it’s back to at home workouts.
With this in mind, I’m aiming to keep active at home. Running, workouts, hiking, bike rides, yoga, walks, and who knows what else is the plan.
I have a subscription with the Sweat app at the moment and looked this morning to see that they’ve released three new programs (two yoga, and one barre). So, I’ve decided to give the Barre program a go, mixed with Yoga with Ania.
6. Implement a morning and night routine
I love routine, but I don’t have routines. So, I plan on creating flexible morning and night routines that work for me.
7. Form a better relationship with food
My eating habits are all over the place, and I want to change that. My relationship with food isn’t the best, but it’s definitely in a better place than what it has been. I also don’t eat enough, and I really want to change that.
8. Overall, I want to become better
This goal is an overarching one. It’s the big one that encompasses all of the goals I’ve mentioned, and other little habits I hope to change and implement.
I want to become better – physically, mentally, and through my lifestyle and actions.
It’s a big goal that will take a lot of hard work, but I’m ready for that work.
Well, there you have it. My end of 2020 goals.
Do you have any goals that you’ve set yourself for the end of 2020?
