This post has been in the making for quite some time. The reason? Well, it’s in the title I built a veggie patch.
I weeded, I created a layout, I moved bricks, I planted, I did a lot. Mostly, I waited for the rain to clear. Building and creating a veggie patch in winter isn’t the best idea, but it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
I’m not going to lie, it was a great way to relieve stress. I felt calm and excited; even with all the manual labour, sweat, and hard work.
Right now I’ve got lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, strawberries, blueberries, baby spinach, thyme, rocket, coriander, parsley, chives, leeks, spring onions and a rogue cucumber growing. I’ll be adding potatoes to that list very soon.
I’m not going to ramble on. Instead, I’m going to share some photos of the process.

I also created a YouTube video of the process, if you’re interested.
I’m incredibly happy with how it’s turned out and cannot wait for the veggies I’ve planted to grow.
I’ve gotten into gardening through this little project. Now, I’m tackling the garden which is a larger project, but I’m excited to see the end result.
I’ll keep you all posted on what happens!
If you’re wanting more little snippets of my gardening I have an Instagram highlight which I’ll update as I continue gardening.
Also, let me know if you’d like to see more gardening blog posts!
