About

Hey there! First of all, welcome to Elysian Haze and thanks for stopping by!

So, Elysian Haze?

Elysian Haze is a lifestyle blog with a bit of a twist. It focuses on living a healthy and sustainable life. It’s about taking things slow, living with less, making conscious choices and taking care of your mental and physical state.

We have three homes: our planet, our mind, and our body.

So, to reiterate, Elysian Haze is a lifestyle blog with a twist. It’s also documenting my journey into living consciously as I learn to take care of our planet and myself.

Elysian Haze is a space for all.
It’s where we can come together to change and to grow.

& who am I?

I’m Alexandrina, or Lexie for short!

Currently I’m 19, and live in the Barossa Valley of South Australia. And essentially, I’m just trying to become better and live my best life.

I’m currently halfway through a double degree (wow, that’s a little scary to say). I’m studying a Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing, and a Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing & Literature), while minoring in Film & Television and Social Media. It’s a bit of a mouthful.

My favourite things in life are clouds, storms, rain, mountains, hiking, swimming, waterfalls, forests, the ocean (only sometimes), tennis, sport in general, road trips, travelling to new and old places… So basically, I love nature and exploring it.

Which is why I want to live as sustainably as I can while taking care of myself along the way.

Anyway, that’s enough about me. If you’d like to get in touch, you can do so here, and don’t forget to take a look around and see what else you can uncover.

It wasn't my plan, but it's what happened.

What's something you hope 2021 brings you?
I turned 20 yesterday and I don't like these photo I turned 20 yesterday and I don't like these photos, but I'm posting them anyway.

It's kind of weird to think of myself as a 20 year old. I don't feel ready yet, but I'm ready to give it a go.

Today, I went out and had lunch with my family. It was nothing fancy, but it was nice. I'm not one to celebrate things. To me my birthday is just another day 😅

Anyway, I did have something exciting happen and I'm crossing my fingers it all works out. Anyway guesses?

Shirt is secondhand Glassons from Depop

Also, when I do post photos of me, would you like to know where my clothes are from?

Heading into 2021 has left me super busy with work Heading into 2021 has left me super busy with work, but full of ideas for the blog.

What have you gotten up to so far this year? 🦋

While work has been crazy, loud, cold, hot, and full on, it hasn't been too bad.

I find January is like a test run of the year. It's a hectic month that's all over the shop (for me at least). Finding peace can be hard, but it's super rewarding. It's a month where I always relearn how to look after myself a little more (after some easily avoidable self-destruction though).

Anyway, I'm heading offline again to get some stuff done as I've got tennis this afternoon 🎾
Happy new year guys 🥂 I've been working the la Happy new year guys 🥂

I've been working the last couple of days, and haven't really spent a lot of time on my phone to post.

To think it's 2021 🤔

For me personally, 2020 was a pretty good year: I did well in uni (could've done better), started building some healthier habits, figured who I am/want to be, hiked, and for the first time felt comfortable in my body. These are all things I hope to carry on into the new year.

I'm definitely trying to look at the positives of 2020.

What's something you achieved in/loved about 2020 despite it being the year no one wanted?
Thought I'd share some sustainable new year resolu Thought I'd share some sustainable new year resolutions to bring into 2021 🌱

These are pretty generic, but I hope they inspire you to think about our gorgeous planet and outside the box for your 2021 resolutions (if you set them).

I've got a blog post up with 10 more sustainable resolutions as well. So, if you want to check out the full list, the link is in my bio 🦋

Even if you just set one sustainable resolution within your list, it's better than nothing. I'd definitely recommend taking a look at number 25 on the list (in my blog post) 🥰

Do you plan on setting any sustainable new year resolutions?
From this morning's hike 💥 I started 2020 on a From this morning's hike 💥

I started 2020 on a high note by hiking Lofty with an incredible friend and it's safe to I'm ending it on a high note too, hiking Wine Shanty with her too (even though there are a few days left).

Even though 2020 didn't go to plan for any of us, I feel closer to myself than ever before and I'm ready to continue growing in 2021.

What was a highlight of 2020 for you?
